If you asked me 24 hours ago about my feelings on frozen yogurt that isn't 99 cents and doesn't come in a sugar cone at Ikea, I probably would have gone on an abnormally long diatribe about how much absolutely loathe fro-yo and fro-yo places. But after having tried Yogurtland at the insistence of frozen treat connoisseur, Nicole W, I won't say I've changed my tune, but I will call Yogurtland an exception to the rule. I don't know that I'll ever go to a frozen yogurt place on my own volition, but if I had a friend in town who for some reason could only eat frozen yogurt, I'd take them to Ikea for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (sorry, but I'm cheap and it's only 25 cents there) and then come here for dessert. I was glad that I came with Nicole because I would not even have been able to figure out how to work the pull tabs without her. They only had about 8-10 flavors here, but they were varied and had a decent selection no matter if you go for richer, chocolatey and dessert type flavors, or fruity, more sorbet like options. Where this place really one me over was with the sample cup offered immediately upon walking in. I sampled 4 different flavors and because of how the machines work, the minimum sample is still pretty huge, so you could actually fill up on samples. I think I ate more sample cups worth of yogurt than I put in my cup and paid for, so that was a major plus and bang for your buck in my eyes. My last experience with these self serve fro-yo places was horrible. Everything from the absolutely p$ycho pricing $y$tem, to the tip jar at the counter for a person who does nothing but stand behind a register and at no point leaves their post, comes in contact with the product or offers a service. It's like paying a person for allowing you to pay, which drives me nuts. Total job for millennials who think their mere presence of showing up at work is deserving of praise... but anyway, it wasn't like that here. At Yogurtland there were real-deal adults working behind the counter and the price for both Nicole and my fro-yos was $5 and some change total, and considering I really loaded up on the bursting boba, that wasn't a bad deal. Based on the crowd inside and out, the place could easily be overrun with children and teens, but this one was pretty orderly and the little promenade of Arlington Heights if rife with benches so as long as it isn't raining, you can set yourself up real nice like with your fro-yo. Again, I don't know that I'll be giving up my Ikea habit anytime soon, but it's nice to see that not all fro-yo places are as demonic as I'd previously pegged them to be. In summation, when I'm emporer of the world, I'll allow this place and Ikea to stay, but otherwise, please no more fro-yo places. There's more than enough. Now let's get some popsicle shops up in this bitch!

I love Yogurtland! It was poppin' last night - packed out! I had no idea there was a Yogurtland so close to me until my BFF insisted we go last night. She then suffered through my retrospective story of how Yogurtland in Little Tokyo in LA was my first froyo experience quite a few years ago, before the craze hit Chi Town. This location is super clean, well organized, good music, great workers. A guy was standing handing out sample cups and let us know we could try more than one, wootwoot. I tried two and settled on Double cookies and cream which I hadn't seen before. I put some oreos on it and it was so friggin good! Plus under $2! It really doesn't get better than this. We agreed there is some kind of unspoken rule that because it's a bit better for you than the usual ice cream/dessert, you can then eat more of it. :D They have frosted animal crackers as one of their toppings! Never seen that before.

Cha-Ching! This place rocks! I fist pump (think Andrew WK NOT Jersey Shore) the entire walk/drive there and then while I eat it. I know, I'm talented. When I was a kid, I used to love going to places like Max & Erma's or Old Country Buffet purely for the ice cream sundae bar, but I'm older now, more mature, I like frozen yogurt sundae bars instead. I will never get too old for loading up my cup of chocolatepeanutbuttervanillaalmondmochacookiefudge yogurt with almost too many toppings to choose from. Everytime I come here I get the works; I go all out. Even when I go in with a mentality of 'healthy options' I take one step in the door and say (F)orget that, Im getting the good stuff! I know I'm in trouble because I live three blocks away and I don't think the walk burns off those calories, but the calories get burned if I say so, and I say so, so there. There is probably a good chance I will see you there, just flash me a peace sign so I know youre a fellow 'Y'elper, I'll be the guy with an unusual amount of yogurt on his face.... ps. Yogurt-Land sounds more like a theme park, which is why I pronounce it differently, theres Scotland, England, Iceland, and now Yogurtland. And you can take that to the bank.

Seriously in love with this place. Their best flavors have to be the dark chocolate as well as the Madagascar Vanilla. I like to keep it simple because it is sooo good. Oh, I also forgot to mention that the birthday cake ice cream is phenom!!! I really didn't expect it to be decent and was somewhat worried and only took a bit, what a mistake. I wish I would have only gotten that. When we finish eating downtown, I always stop here to grab a big bowl of ice cream, sadly, this tends to be when they are about to close. The people that work there are all high school students and are so sweet. They walk me through and tell me what their fav flavors are. Everything is changing so it is nice to try something new. I am a purist at heart, I only put chocolate chips and/or the mango liquid balls 9they are gelly balls filled with this delicious mango juice.) The flavors go so well with the plain chocolate or vanilla. I love layering the different flavors. The only negative is that this place is expensive like every other boutique ice cream parlor but I treat myself once in a while so why not.

THERE'S A YOGURTLAND IN THE CHICAGO-AREA?!?!?! I may or may not have shrieked when learning that little tidbit. Anyways, I've only been to a Yogurtland once before (in Capital Hill, Seattle, Washington) and although I'm a Forever Yogurt devotee, this takes the cake. I knocked one star off for slow service.. (seriously, was a long line that moved at a glacial pace)

i love you yogurtland! i love your flavors especially the strawberry lemonade froyo. i love that you have hello kitty cups and character spoons! this location gets a bit crowded especially since it's open until 11pm.

  • Gene S.

Yeah, it's new, it's cool, it's clean...but it didn't seem as satisfying as ice cream (even with a bunch of chocolatey toppings). Left me wanting more to quench my sweet/sugary treat fix. Haven't been to Menchie's yet in Randhurst Village...wonder how it compares? Will also be interesting to see how Berry Yo fares when they open in A.H.

I love Yogurtland! Finally a place close to my house that has nice, clean, refreshing fruit flavors, lots of great toppings, and the price is so reasonable! Top it off with tons of seating (although somehow, never a place to sit since the place is always packed - just goes to show how good it is), and I am head over heels for Yogurtland. Even their "ice cream flavors" aren't so bad, the chocolate mint is actually really good. I personally am always a fan of the natural fruit flavors though.

Really enjoyed our first visit here today. Nice, simple concept: grab a cup, fill with any kind (or combo) of self serve yogurt and add toppings. I had strawberry and the plain (tart) yogurts. Yum! I also tried my kid's red velvet cake batter, French vanilla, and tangerine. All very good and fresh tasting. Any kind of topping you want. At .35/ounce, ours came in our $3.00 each. Even the self pour water station was delightful with fresh strawberries in the water. The store itself was also nicely appointed. We'll be back.

This place was packed on a wednesday night but still the line was moving along. I still get over the fact that i can get a ton of ice cream and toppings and yet the price is so cheap compared to other places!! I love it!!

  • Emily C.

I like that you can try more exotic flavors but they still have plenty of more traditional flavors. Good place to take the kids for that reason. Prices are pretty fair based on the portion you choose. Very clean every time I've been.

  • Jordan B.

Yogurtland has successfully reinvented an old idea. This is a sharply designed place that strives for simplicity as evidenced by their self-serve approach and single price checkout. (Everything is $0.35/ounce.)

    (4)
  • Jaci Y.

It's my favorite place for frozen yogurt. Why? Three great reasons. 1) hello kitty theme ( sanrio characters) 2) $.35 per ounce 3) All different kind of flavors to chose from and topping you control the price and amount, sweet! The only problem is this place is far from Chicago like at least 45 minutse out of the way but it was worth checking it out.

Yogurtland is a lot like many other pay by weight yogurt joints. You pick a cup, pick a flavor (or a few flavors), add toppings, and slap it on the scale. The price point is average. The easy-to-locate ingredient information is typical of this type of place. Then, there are are a few areas where Yogurtland departs from the usual and catapults into the stratosphere. --They have a few tried and true flavors on hand every day, but they also have a big rotation of more exotic flavors that change frequently. You can pretty much always find something new here, and what's more, the flavors are all good! If you're not sure if you want to try passionfruit orange guava sorbet, just ask for a little spoon and take a sample. Not sure about sticky toffee pudding froyo? Swirl a little next to your main flavor and give it a try. I promise you that I have yet to encounter a single gross flavor here (I think I've had 8 of them so far). Adventurous froyo fans, you'll be rewarded. Fortune favors the bold! --The staff members are on top of their game. The place is kept spotless, even the highchairs (unheard of!) and the underside of the tables where children often smear their sticky fingers. Once they were out of napkins, and I asked about getting some. The employee I spoke to not only refilled the dispenser but brought some to my table. --They have a little water cooler with strawberries floating in it. I don't know why, but I find this quite charming. --The toppings include standards like strawberries and chocolate chips, but here too, they offer opportunities to try new things. Mango boba balls? Lychee? Yes, please! I love coming here after taking my daughter to the park. Hey, I just burned a few calories pushing her on the swings, right?

I still can't believe there is a Yogurtland here in Illinois! My trips to SoCal usually goes like this--Land at SD International Airport, hug my nephews/brother/sister-in-law and then ask them to take me to the nearest Yogurtland. I LOVE Yogurtland. I think the Arlington Heights locale still needs to work out some kinks with smoothness of cashier service and keeping the toppings bar a bit neater. But the Yogurtland concept is intact. Self serve frozen yogurt with flavors like Tahitian Vanilla, Strawberry, Mandarin Orange, Chocolate, Red Velvet Cake Batter, Peanut Butter, Original Tart and some others I can't remember. With 35cents an ounce, a refreshing sweet treat is VERY affordable. The topping choices are wonderful--fresh fruit, mochi, cookies, candies, nuts, even caramel or chocolate sauces. Yogurtland really does it the best. The frozen yogurts are really creamy and the flavors are really fresh and true. The fruits are fresh as is the mochi. I can see this location staying super busy on weekends as it's nestled near the theater and restaurants. I've never encountered a line of more than 2 or 3 people in SD, probably because there are so many Yogurtlands there. But even though it was quite chilly outside, there were at least 12 people in line in front of me squealing in delight at the choices and flavors. Thanks for coming to Illinois, Yogurtland! Now if we could just get an In-and-Out...

They have salted-caramel frozen yogurt. As a person who loves salted-caramel ANYTHING, I can tell you that I was done with that frozen yogurt in literally 13.5 seconds. Very, very delicous it was. And I was super pleased with my selection. Smiley, helpful, eager-to-please employees and very affordable yogurt with a variety of topping options also adds to the appeal of this place. I've been to more than a handful of yogurt places, this one was one of the best. This is a fro-yo biz done right.

Frozen Yogurt places have been popping up all over the suburbs in the past few years, but I think Yogurtland is the place that does Froyo the best. I initially came here after hearing rave reviews from my cousin. I'm no stranger to the Froyo scene so I was familiar with the pick your flavor, pick your toppings, pay per pound protocol. I went with my standard (something fruity and a bit of their original tart flavor). Top it with fresh fruits and mochi and off to checkout. This is definitely where Yogurtland edges out the competition. The price per pound is definitely the lowest I've found in the suburbs and even out at school. The Froyo itself was good. It didn't have that weird "icy" texture that some places get for one reason or another and the flavors were/are always interesting. But like I said, what makes this place stand out is that it hits that sweet spot price point. It's high enough that I don't feel compelled to just be here 24/7. But it's also low enough that I don't have to worry about overfilling my bowl and getting charged $20 for desert. There are a lot of restaurants and even a new theater nearby which makes Yogurtland a no-brainer choice to end the night.

Yogurtland is my new crush! Love it: great tasting flavors like red velvet cake batter, tiramisu, and Bugs Bunny carrot cake! Hate it: the closest location to me is like 10 miles away! Love it: extensive topping bar, including whipped cream and RED VELVET CAKE BITES (you had me at red velv)! Hate it: they don't offer the rv cake bites in gallon containers, sadly. Love it: Yogurtland has a cool app and current promotion going on with Looney Tunes. Scan 4 cartoon characters on your phone throughout the summer, and get 4 free oz of yogurt! Scan all 6, and get 6 free oz! Booyah! Also, you can fill out a brief survey online, enter the code on your receipt, and bring it in for a 3 free oz! Hate it: the app seems to be sluggish pretty frequently, esp in the flavor and photo tabs.

The YogurtLand craze has FINALLY hit the Chicagoland area! I know there are other deliciously good froyo places, but you absolutely need to try this company. Their froyo IS NOT WATERY like the other places and they have a variety of flavors. Great consistency. You can tell because you need to put in a little oomph when handling the release stick. You pay by the ounce, so load up on your own picked toppings! I usually fill mine to the rim and never pay more than $5. p.s. They have mochi toppings... see ya there :)

I came here on a saturday evening with friends after dinner and it wasn't packed initially when we arrived, but slowly started to fill up (not to the point that there was a line out the door though)..no wait which is a plus!..:) Customer service was great upon entering the store. We were greeted by the workers immediately and offered taster cups. Pros: free mini taster cups, self serve, variety of froyo flavors and variety of toppings, great customer service, cute sanrio cups and spoons (although it is seasonal) Froyo flavors: the original flavor is always my favorite, but they also come out with different flavors every time I go and it's nice trying the new flavors...tried the caramel flavor, s'more flavor, mocha chocolate, peach today..they were all good!...everyone has their own judgment on flavors they like best so I'll let you decide what you like best. Cons: none really..just wish they had some chocolate covered sunflower seeds as a topping option..:) The first time I have come to a froyo place and the line wasn't soo long..the weather is probably a factor to why it wasn't as busy either... Atmosphere: great to come with friends and/or family!! (If there's no room to sit inside, there's benches outside or you can go eye shopping!) Parking: plenty of free parking whether it be in the parking garage, near the shopping area/stores or street parking!

On a hot summer night, you can find droves of kids hopping, skipping, jumping, and splattering yogurt all around. Once you pass the gauntlet, you arrive at a hand sanitizing station - I found this to be MOST amusing, seeing as the store was completely filthy. Grab a sample cup or two (or ten, if you are like the ignorant people in front of me) and try your best to pick a flavor from the 10+ choices. Unfortunately, the rude customers kept checking me out of the way in order to try just one more taste of strawberry. Gee, I wonder what STRAWBERRY tastes like...... Discarded sample cups were at the bottom of each and every yogurt dispenser, along with drips and spills. The topping bar was a disaster, and it seemed like a total free for all with no staff. Just forget it. Too dirty. I recommend the staff here take a trip to Yogli Mogli in Wheaton, and see how it is done.

I'm glad there is another great yogurt place in the suburbs! I'm in love with Forever Yogurt in the city because their yogurt tastes like soft serve ice cream. Yogurtland is the same way! It's sweet and tangy, but not tart. They have about 10 rotating flavors, along with plenty of yummy toppings. It's just like the other fro-yo places (grab a cup, fill it up, top it off, weigh and pay). I really liked the Cinnamon Graham Cracker yogurt. They also have water with strawberries in it. And don't forget- you can sample the yogurt before you buy it! Just ask for a sample cup! The staff was friendly and helpful. There are a few places to sit indoors, but I'm sure in the summer this place would be packed so you would need to migrate outside. I will definitely be back!

I LOVE YOGURTLAND. and will find reasons to be in the neighborhood! My fav flavors are the blackberry, lychee and original. I always top off with fruit and mochi. Their mochi is so fresh and the right texture! Sometimes their fruit varies, but if you ask, they can always cut more for you. The staff here is really friendly, too. They're mostly high school boys, who offer a lot of sample cups and put up with my need to weigh each order individually to declare winner of monster frozen yogurt. LOVE THEM.

Fro Yo & Hello Kitty! I think I must be in heaven! Recently made a visit here just to get a Hello Kitty spoon. That in it of itself is totally awesome. I do love that they teamed up with Sanrio to have these promotional spoons and froyo cups for the summer. This location does have limited seating, so be prepared to either sit outside on one of the park benches or eat it in the car if there are a lot of people. They have a lot of unique flavors like pistachio, root beer float, and blueberry acai--which I've sampled all of :) Nice selection for a self serve place. The biggest bonus that I will agree with other readers is that they label all of the toppings----Yay! I'm no longer just guessing what it is that I'm throwing on top of my fro-yo. The one night I stopped by, I felt like for a self serve place, there were way too many people behind the counter, it would've been nice if there was at least one person in front near the actual machines to clean up and maybe regulate the sample cups a little. Also might be nice to have smaller garbage cans to catch all of those little sample cups. Other than that can't wait to stop in for some more interesting flavors topped with boba balls and mochi!

Awesome selection of flavors, awesome quality of flavors, awesome toppings, all at an awesome price. After visiting Yogurtland, I think that I can never go back to eating normal ice cream again. It's refreshing to be able to try something new every time I go in, either in terms of yogurt flavors or topping mixes. The best thing about this is that I don't think they have any bad flavors, every single one I've tried has ranged from good to excellent. The other great thing is you get to choose your own yogurt and toppings mixes so that everyone can try something different when you're going together as a group.

The 3 stars is probably my fault. I went in with high expectations and this beautiful dream of an entire wall filled with flavor options. There were 10-12 but nothing really jumped out at me. I found it funny that the 2 size cups available are huge and sugar coma guaranteed. Paying by weight is a great idea here. 3 of us had 3 varying size cups and amounts of toppings and I paid right at $10. The store was very small but there's plenty of space to sit outside, if the weather is cooperating. I'll go back because I'm a dreamer and believe new, better flavors will be arriving. And, more importantly, because my kid LOVES frozen treats! :)

This is the best frozen yogurt I've had in the suburbs. My favorite is still downtown at Forever Yogurt, but this comes so close! Very clean with a wide selection of flavors and toppings. My only criticisms would be that I love the mini sized toppings I've had elsewhere, and the employees seemed to be a little down in the dumps (but I think it's only because it was later in the day). Otherwise, loved it!

Even though there are countless frozen yogurt locales in the area, Yogurtland is pretty damn good...and a top pick in AH. This whole "carrying a child for 40 weeks thing" lends itself beautifully to froyo runs. Is anyone ever going to question a pregnant lady when she states that she would like a cool sweet treat? I think not. Unless said person wants to feel the wrath of a hormonal rage. Thus, Yogurtland is a mini preggo nirvana. Inside, Yogurtland is sparkly clean. Beyond the cornucopia of toppings available, the froyo flavors are pretty choice. While you can certainly sample the myriad of options, my eyes went directly to two flavors: salted caramel pecan and s'mores. I mean, comon', how could I not?! It's a flavor explosion and I scraped the container clean. The flavors mixed gloriously, even more so when topped with a plenthora of candies and chocolates. Do take your time exploring your topping options, Yelpers. My main gripes? 1) Many of the toppings were super, super cold. As in almost a bit frozen. And 2) The liquid toppings (caramel, fudge, etc), come straight out of a bottle and aren't heated. Bummer. Yogurtland gets extra props for smiley employees, free water (with strawberries floating around?!), and affordable sweet eats at just $.39 per ounce.

NOM NOM NOM I always heard how yogurtland was the BEST froyo but I did not believe it. To be honest, I never really like froyo. I thought they were all created equally.. BUT i was deaddddd wrong. DAMN yogurtland is the best froyo of all the chains out there. I mean they have cake batter frozen balls! COME ON and nutella at the end! yessss. the add-ins are delicious but what is even better is the froyo. It all starts with the froyo and they are doing it right. I had the cinnamon graham cracker and it was soooo goood. I will definitely be stopping by here again the next time Im in arlington heights. thank GOD my parents live in the AH! woo.

My all time FAVORITE place to get frozen yogurt! Great place to come with friends, or a date on a chill Friday or Saturday night. The staff is super bubbly and friendly. The yogurt itself is Delicious, and I love the sample cups. There is a wide variety of yummy toppings. Very inexpensive compared to other frozen yogurt chains. Defiantly worth the 20 minute drive from Chicago. Parking is convenient, and surrounding area is nice to hang out in. Hands down my favorite frozen yogurt location.

What happened? All the fresh fruit flavors disappeared, replaced by cloyingly sweet stuff. One flavor (praline) tasted like cheap pancake syrup. At least there's still the vanilla.

Yummy yummy yummy I have sugar in my tummy. It's sweet, it's cheap and delicious to eat! Okay I'm done singing. I love this new Yogurtland! So many choices and yet simple. Spritz your hands with sanitizer, grab a cup, fill it up and enjoy. The pricing though I do not know how much anything is, a cup usually only cost me $2.50. Nothing is priced by item but by weight. I can't go wrong.

Hello Kitty and Frozen Yogurt!? Is this a dream!? Not gonna lie the only reason I checked this place out was because of Hello Kitty! I have say I like Yogurtland better then Red Mango. Way better flavors and self serve! I got the Salted Carmel and Cake Batter with a bunch of toppings. Yum-o! It seems to be a little bit cheap then Red Mango too. Beware it's like Pre Teen night when you go there.
